Better Speaker Workshop

Join us to learn from some of the best and most experienced public speakers from Club Awesome and other Toastmasters from around our area. This event is open to the general public (a.k.a., future Toastmasters) and members of other clubs from around our region.

This event is partly intended as a “getting ready for contest season” event, since the Humorous Speaking and Evaluation Contests at the club, area, and district levels will be starting in September. We will hear from past winners who have taken their talents to the top levels of competition. Featuring Godfrey McAllister, who won the International Speech Contest at the district level in 2017 with this speech and competed at the World Championship of Public Speaking.

Andrew Bern, DTM assigned You’re most important resource is time. Each of us has the same amount of time. What you do with it determines what goals you can accomplish. I will cover time management skills, the Pomodoro technique, and time blocking. For those on the Pathways educational journey, there are more than 351 skills and competencies to learn. Identifying your goals, applying the Smart Goal method, and applying that to your club’s distinguished program will lead your club to excellence. Bio: I joined TM in 2012. I earned a DTM in 2016, 2020, and 2022. I served in leadership at the club, Area, Division, District and Trio. I am an author, lecturer, coach, and writer. I have published multiple textbook chapters, articles, presented at conferences.
