VP of Public Relations

Tamra Smart (DL1)

About Me: No effort is required on my part when speaking with my friends and family! However, in doing my own self-assessment, I realized that I wasn't necessarily assertive when speaking to others outside of my comfort zone.  I knew that I had to take action and address this gap!  Signing up and attending Toastmasters is one of the single best personal and professional decisions that I've made! I have found this Toastmaster camaraderie to be a nurturing yet challenging environment...exactly what I needed!  It's great to be surrounded by like-minded individuals who also have a desire to sharpen and develop their speaking, presentation and leadership skills.  Although I'm not a long-tenured Toastmaster, I've seen the difference that being a club member has already made in the way in which I articulate myself.  The question that I now ask myself is "how come I didn't know about this program before?".
