The April issue of the Toastmasters International Magazine mentions Club Awesome in the article “You’re Speaking About What?!” about addressing controversial topics. I was interviewed about my speech on “Isalmofascism and Islamophobia,” which touched on sensitive topics and challenged members to rethink their beliefs.

The writer, who happens to be a Muslim, found a blog post I’d published with the text of the speech and some material from my research. The most important point I tried to make is that when you touch on sensitive topics, you need to do so with respect for those who may disagree with your opinions or could be offended. – David F. Carr
